Alec Musser Cause of Death Revealed

The ‘All My Children’ actor died by suicide Friday night at his home in Del Mar, California.

All My Children actor Alex Musser, 50, died from a shotgun wound to his chest due to suicide, the San Diego County Medical Examiner has concluded.

The actor’s fiancée, Paige Press, who discovered Musser’s body, first shared the news of his death after he died Friday night at their home in Del Mar, California.

According to a statement from the local medical examiner, Press discovered Musser “seated and slumped forward on the bathroom floor. She noted a firearm near him and an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest and called 911. Paramedics and law enforcement responded and confirmed the death.”

Musser’s death is not regarded as a homicide as there were no other contributing factors to his death besides the self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“RIP to the love of my life,” Press wrote in a series of Instagram posts, which also included photos of them throughout their time as a couple. “I will never stop loving you. My heart is broken.”

Musser was best known for playing Del Henry on the ABC soap opera All My Children. His other acting credits included the 2010 movie Grown Ups, which starred Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Maya Rudolph and Salma Hayek.

Musser also made appearances in the TV series Rita Rocks in 2009, Desperate Housewives in 2011 and Road to the Altar in 2009. And he won the second season of the reality series I Wanna Be a Soap Star, which is how he scored his role on All My Children from 2005 to 2007.
