Priscilla Presley referred to Elvis as “lonely” when the two first met.

Priscilla Presley recalled how “lonely” Elvis was when she and the musical icon first met in 1959.

“My relationship with Elvis, you know, people go, ‘Oh my god, how could this happen?’ It was not a sexual relationship, being 14 years old,” Priscilla told Fox 32 in an interview published Thursday, recalling how she was 14 when she met the then-24-year-old.

Priscilla, referring to herself as “the listener” in the relationship, added that the “Burning Love” crooner would “[pour] his heart out” to her.

“He was very, very lonely,” she recalled.

Priscilla further clarified their relationship dynamic in a September interview with Rolling Stone.

“[He liked me] because I was more of a listener,” Priscilla told the magazine. “Elvis would pour his heart out to me every way … and I was the person who really, really sat there to listen and to comfort him. That was really our connection.”

When the two met in 1959, Elvis was 24 and Priscilla was 14.
People think, ‘Oh, it was sex,’” Priscilla, 78, said. “Not at all. I never had sex with him [at the time].”
The couple went on to marry in May 1967 when Priscilla was 21 and Elvis was 32, having daughter Lisa Marie a year later.

Priscilla and Elvis’ age gap became a topic of conversation again in October when Sofia Coppola’s latest film “Priscilla” was released in theaters.

At the time, sources told Page Six that the Presley family was up in arms about the film’s depiction of the “Jailhouse Rock” singer.

Lisa Marie, who died in January from cardiac arrest, was particularly unsettled by the way her father was portrayed.

In leaked private emails between Lisa Marie and Coppola, the daughter of the “Hound Dog” crooner urged Coppola to change the “shockingly vengeful and contemptuous” script.

The couple welcomed daughter Lisa Marie in 1968.
“My father only comes across as a predator and manipulative,” Lisa Marie reportedly wrote. “As his daughter, I don’t read this and see any of my father in this character. I don’t read this and see my mother’s perspective of my father. I read this and see your shockingly vengeful and contemptuous perspective and I don’t understand why?”

Despite the concern over the film, Priscilla told the outlet in her recent interview that she was satisfied with how it all came out.

“You’re nervous,” Priscilla began. “You know, this is your life, but I was happy with it. I thought [Coppola] did a great job and especially [Cailee Spaeny who played Priscilla] was unbelievable. She honestly got me down to a T. I did have a couple of meetings with her and she said, ‘Is there anything that you can tell me that I can go by?’ and I said, ‘Yes, just be sensitive, please.’”
