Gorgeous Pictures Show Princess Charlotte’s Uncanny Resemblance To Princess Diana
As each year passes by, Princess Charlotte continues to grow into the gorgeous little girl that she’s becoming. But with the passing of time, it also becomes more clear that the only daughter of William, Prince of Wales and Catherine, Princess of Wales has a striking resemblance to multiple family members, including her father, her grandmother, Princess Diana and her late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
Born on May 2, 2015, Charlotte is the middle child of the Wales family, as she has an older brother, Prince George, and a younger brother, Prince Louis. She is third in the line of succession to the throne, following her father and older brother. Charlotte’s full name is Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, which honors both her grandmother and the previous reigning monarch, her great-grandmother.
The little princess is 7 years old nowadays, and with each year that passes, her personality comes out more. She’s proving to be the cheekiest member of the royal family. Besides her fiery personality, Charlotte’s resemblance between her and her grandmother, Diana, has been long drawn by fans since she was a toddler. Sadly, Diana died in a tragic car accident in Paris in 1997, which means Charlotte was never able to meet her.
Still, people can’t help but notice that Diana’s legacy seems to live on through her sons — William and Prince Harry — and 7-year-old Charlotte. Although there’s no telling what Charlotte will be like as she grows older, it’s safe to say that she will be just as beautiful — inside and out — as her grandmother.
We love seeing family resemblances when it comes to celebrities but are overjoyed when we can find the same in the royal family. According to Hello! Magazine, Charlotte has been compared to quite a few royal women in her life. Many people have pointed out that she looks like the late Queen Elizabeth from her younger years, while others have stated that her mannerisms clearly resemble those of her mother, the Princess of Wales.
Eagle-eyed royal fans have also noticed that Charlotte bears an eerily striking resemblance to her grandmother, Diana.
In the summer of 2019, the little princess had royal fans cracking up when she was pictured sticking her tongue out at the crowd at The King’s Cup regatta. According to Harper’s Bazaar, Charlotte also caused quite a stir when she barred photographers from attending little brother Louis’ christening.
The little princess reportedly said, “You’re not coming!”
Well, apart from her grandmother’s cheekiness, little Charlotte has seemingly also inherited Diana’s incredibly good looks. The resemblance is simply uncanny.
We’re not the only ones who think the two look eerily like one another. Die-hard royal fans took to Instagram to comment on a side-by-side photo comparison of the two at roughly the same age, which was uploaded last year by a fan account.
“Omg double of her nana….what a great young lady she will turn out to be with looks as beautiful as her angel nana,” commented one user.
Other users in the comments debated how similar Charlotte and Diana looked, but they could all agree that the young princess shares her grandmother’s famous smirk. Another wrote, “Beauties Diana is back thru hr (sic) sweet granddaughter bless her xx.”
Not only does Charlotte look similar to her grandmother, but it was previously reported that she is set to own the same piece of jewelry that Diana once owned and wore. According to GoodtoKnow, Charlotte is expected to receive the beautiful Spencer Tiara, belonging to the Spencer family.
The tiara is from the 1930s and was designed using pieces of jewelry that the Spencer family already owned to create the masterpiece. It was later famously worn by Diana during her wedding to King Charles III in 1981 and again on other special occasions, including a state dinner in Brisbane, Australia, in 1983. It is currently in possession of Diana’s younger brother, Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, as per GoodtoKnow.
A palace insider said:
“William is close with his uncle and has asked if his mother’s namesake tiara can be given to Charlotte someday.”
However, CNN reported in May 2022 that the Spencer Tiara was on display at Sotheby’s in an exhibition called “Power & Image: Royal & Aristocratic Tiaras.” So, royal fans will have to wait and see to find out if the young princess obtains her grandmother’s tiara in the future.
Still, people have continued to marvel over Charlotte and Diana’s similarities. In June 2022, an Instagram page dedicated to Diana posted a video of Charlotte’s beaming smile. People flocked to the comments to again strike up a conversation about her resemblance to Diana. One person wrote:
“She is a beautiful young lady — she looks like her Grandma Diana.”
We have no doubt we will continue to see more similarities with her grandmother through the years as the young princess grows up.
