Fans were outraged this week as the clip from six years ago recirculated. In the video, the former Hustlers star was seen bundled up and accompanied by a friend or co-star in the bustling streets of the Big Apple as her assistant appeared to run into the shot to catch the gum.

Viewers couldn’t believe their eyes at the “outrageous behaviour” and claimed that even if Jennifer was in the middle of shooting a movie scene she could’ve asked her assistant for a napkin, swallowed it, disposed of it in a trash can, or even spit it onto the ground. And while some tried to defend the move, claiming that this is a common occurrence on movie sets, others still found it unacceptable.

In the viral clip posted on X, formerly Twitter, the video was captioned: “Here’s JLO spitting chewing gum into her assistant’s hand in the middle of New York City. Such rude and nasty behaviour. There is no reason to treat your employees like this.”
