Fast & Furious is a blockbuster franchise that follows Dom Toretto and his family, and the main characters have signature cars with a special meaning.
The Fast & Furious saga started as a love letter to car culture, which means it’s no surprise that the main characters have signature vehicles that reveal a lot about their personalities. The first Fast & Furious film debuted in 2001, and, since then, the franchise has become a blockbuster hit spread over 11 movies, one spin-off, and multiple plans to continue growing the franchise. Because of how extended the Fast & Furious universe is, it’s only natural for the franchise to include an array of powerful, iconic vehicles.
Throughout Fast & Furious‘ movies, the series has wowed its audience with thrilling, gravity-defying car scenes that could not have been possible without some legendary rides. Be it Dom’s timeless Charger or Brian’s Supra,Fast & Furious started as a street racing franchise focused on illegal car races, and it delivered quality cars for its viewers. However, by Fast Five, the films transitioned into heists and espionage, continuing the theme for the rest of the series. Despite that, as much as the Fast & Furious saga wanted to minimize the role of racing, cars continued to be important for all the main characters.
9Deckard Shaw Is All About European Exotics
Signature Car: McLaren 720S
Deckard Shaw, played by Jason Statham, is from London, and his choice of cars proves that he mostly goes for European models. He is elegant, yet lethal, and exotic cars highlight that best. He drove his signature English car, the McLaren 720S, in his Fast & Furious spinoff Hobbs & Shaw. His character is loyal to his family, and driving an English car couldn’t be a better choice for his character. Throughout the series, he drove other English cars, like the iconic McLaren Senna, a Jaguar F-Type, and a 2005 Aston Martin DB9, but also a couple of Italian wheels, such as the Maserati Ghibli.

8Luke Hobbs Is All About Huge, Armored Trucks
Signature Car: Navistar MXT, Gurkha LAPV
Luke Hobbs, played by Dwayne Johnson, first appeared in 2011’s Fast Five, and, with him, viewers were introduced to new vehicles: huge, armored trucks. Hobbs started the series as a Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) agent, and his rides in Fast & Furious proved that. They were big, imposing, powerful, and armored, which also defines the unstoppable Hobbs, who made his recent return in the ending credits of Fast X. Hobbs drove many big cars in Fast & Furious, but some of the most iconic ones were the Gurkha LAPV which he drove around Brazil and the Navistar MXT, used in Fast & Furious 6 during the convoy attack in Russia.
7Roman Pearce Is All About Flashy Supercars
Signature Car: Koenigsegg CCXR
Tyrese Gibson’s Roman Pierce was introduced in 2 Fast 2 Furious, and has been a constant, loyal friend to Dom Toretto ever since. Roman drove many cars in Fast & Furious, but his signature car appears in Fast Five when he purchases the vehicle of his dreams: a black 2010 Koenigsegg CCXR. Roman is reluctant to try dangerous things, but he would do so for money, and his supercar proves that. He loves flashy, exclusive things, and, in Fast Five, he claims the Koenigsegg is “the only one in the Western Hemisphere,” as the CCXR’s production included only three units. The vehicle is also extremely fast, which is right up Roman’s alley.
6Tej Parker Loves Italian Cars
Signature Car: Ferrari FXX
Tej Parker’s cars in Fast & Furiousare nothing short of impressive. Ludacris’ character began the series as a mechanic, proving his driving and hacking numerous times. Similar to Roman, Tej also splashed his money on cars, including a Ferrari FXX (in addition to a Koenigsegg CCXR). The FXX is iconic and timeless, which highlights that Tej prioritizes quality, sophistication, and prestige, and there’s nothing like a Ferrari to accomplish that. Unfortunately, the Fast Saga didn’t use a real Ferrari FFX, but one with a Ferrari Enzo body kit (which is iconic in itself). Tej also drove another Ferrari, the 458 Italia, in Furious 7.
5Han Is A True Car Connoisseur
Signature Car: Mazda RX-7 FD
Han (Sung Kang) is introduced in the third Fast & Furious film, which was all about drifting. He is a true vintage car enthusiast, as well as a real connoisseur, and he balances Japanese grand tourers with American cars throughout the film series. His signature car is a Mazda RX-7 FD, which was his primary car in Tokyo. With an orange and black exterior, the car highlights Han’s love for drifts. However, the most surprising car Han drives in Fast & Furiousis a 1971 Alfa Romeo 2000GT in Fast X.
4Mia Toretto
Signature Car: 1994 Acura Integra GS-R
Mia Toretto, played by Jordana Brewster, proved her skills both as a driver and a mechanic throughout the series. Since she’s a Toretto, Mia drove many cars in Fast & Furious, but one turned out to be truly iconic for her: the blue 1994 Acura Integra GS-R. Mia drove the car in the first film to impress Brian as she gave him a ride, and, although it didn’t appear in the subsequent sequels, it was a remarkable car that proved Mia’s intelligence. Although it’s fast, it’s also reliable and safe, just like Mia. However, she proved she could handle anything as she drove the 1965 Ford GT40 in Fast Five.
3Letty Ortiz
Signature Car: 1971 Jensen Interceptor
Letty is Dom’s ride-or-die, and she is a great driver and risk-taker. Letty’s Fast & Furious car history includes both American and Japanese cars, as well as some motorcycles, but the most iconic car she drives is the gray 1971 Jensen Interceptor. The British sports car is both stylish and fast, with a lot of power, just like Letty. She drove the car in Fast & Furious 6, memorably during the pursuit of Owen Shaw’s Flip Car. Although it was different from her usual American or Japanese cars, it also highlighted how Letty changed when she didn’t have her memoryand worked for Shaw.
2Brian O’Conner Was All About Foreign Power
Signature Car: Nissan Skyline GT-R and Toyota Supra MK IV
The cars Brian O’Conner drove in Fast & Furious proved his passion for imported Japanese cars. It’s difficult to pick just one signature car for Brian, because his 1994 Toyota Supra MK IV from the first film is a symbol of the series, as well as his blue Nissan Skyline GT-R from 2 Fast 2 Furious. Brian’s background in law enforcement shows that he is reliable, which is the perfect way to describe Japanese cars. However, he had turned into a thrill-seeker in the first film, and the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 and the Toyota Supra MK IV are both powerful sports cars that highlight that.
1Dominic “Dom” Toretto Is All About Muscle Cars
Signature Car: 1970 Dodge Charger R/T
Dom is the fastest of them all, with a big preference for muscle cars. Given that his signature is his love and devotion to his family, it’s no surprise that Dom goes for muscle cars. They’re home-grown, reliable, and true monsters on wheels, begging for extra mods and oomph. Dom drove many cars throughout Fast & Furious, and he prides himself on his knowledge of vehicles, but there’s nothing more iconic in the Fast & Furious saga than him and his signature car, a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T. The Charger is aggressive, thanks to its 375 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque, and all about masculinity and power, much like Dom Toretto.
