While the original series prepares for its 21st season, the most recent spinoff series, NCIS Hawaii, is also preparing for new episodes.
The Hawaii episode premiered in 2021 and made history by being the first NCIS series to feature a female lead. Vanessa Lachey plays Jane Tennant, the first female Special Agent in charge of the att4ck on Pearl Harbor.
When her role was announced, Lachey posted on Instagram about how honored she was to play the character, concluding, “Now let’s get to work!”
When the show first premiered, the cast and crew attended a traditional Hawaiian blessing on the Hawaiian island of Oahu.
Following a successful first season, the show was renewed for a second season, with fans experiencing the ups and downs of the lives of naval cr1me investigators working on the island.
Season 2 of NCIS: Hawaii concluded in May 2023, and fans who have been waiting to see where Agent Jane Tennant’s work left off can rejoice because the show will return for a third season on February 12, 2024.

NCIS: Hawaii and the original NCIS series were both renewed for new seasons in February 2023.
Both shows were scheduled to premiere on CBS in the fall of 2023, but due to the writers’ and actors’ strikes, production could not begin until September and November, respectively.

The season 2 finale included appearances by Wilmer Valderrama from the original NCIS and LL Cool J from NCIS: Los Angeles. LL Cool J played Sam Hanna for 14 seasons and was a fan favorite.
His appearance on NCIS: Hawaii was so well received that he will be back for the upcoming season. “All of us at ‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ have been huge fans of LL Cool J for years, and we couldn’t be more thrilled or honored to be adding his spectacular talent to our ohana for season three,” executive producers Matt Bosack, Jan Nash, and Christopher Silber said in a statement to Variety.
