Every season, there is speculation about whether Gibbs will return. The question for NCIS Season 21 is all about saying goodbye to Ducky.
NCIS fans learned the terrible news on September 25. David McCallum was 90 years old when he died. Of course, fans of the show immediately wondered how the show would handle this.
There may be only one way to cope with the loss. That loss must be written into the series, allowing fans, cast, and crew to mourn the loss of the actor and character. This has sparked speculation about who might return for a memorial episode to say farewell to Ducky.
Will Mark Harmon appear in NCIS Season 21..?
Of course, there is always the possibility that Gibbs will return. This time, it’s more than just fans hoping to see Gibbs again.
It doesn’t seem right to have a goodbye episode to Ducky without certain characters present, and Gibbs is one of them.
Gibbs is currently in Alaska. After hearing from Fornell that Gibbs was a good one to leave out in the wind, Gary Cole’s Alden Parker left him there. It appears that Gibbs will remain there unless something happens to bring him back.
Harmon has no idea if he will be brought back to the series, according to Entertainment Tonight. He hasn’t ruled it out; he just doesn’t know if there are plans to bring him back. Someone should just ask him about it.
Of course, it’s possible that the memorial episode hasn’t yet been written. There may be discussions, but this is something that must be addressed at the appropriate time.
The season premiere or the early episodes of the season aren’t the best places to do something like that.
