This past December, the actress posted photos of her heartbreaking final day on set to her Instagram account.
“I’ve had this commitment for years to make this movie, The Woman King, with Viola Davis,” Bello tells TV Insider.
“It’s a female Braveheart based on 5,000 women warriors in Dahomey, modern-day Benin, in the 18th and 19th centuries.” They were described as “the biggest badasses they’d ever fought.”
She also plans to fly in Haiti, combining her interests in “adventure travel and women’s history.”
But first, her character will appear in a major NCIS episode on March 2 when she and head honcho Gibbs (Mark Harmon) travel to Afghanistan after Sloane’s old buddy and a busload of schoolgirls she was chaperoning are kidnapped. (There is a possibility that the Taliban is involved.)
“[Gibbs and Sloane] want to do this mission together,” Bello said. “‘Are they sleeping together?’ people wonder.” It’s safe to say that [this episode] will be a continuance of their wonderful affection for each other.”
